1. Where can I get the Methodology of Preparation for the Examination in the Czech Language?

The Methodology is available on this website in the section For Download.

2. Is it possible to get NEW information flyers on the changes in the System of Instruction of the Czech Language and the Examination for Aliens?

You can download a flyer from this website from the section For Download or you can request that printed flyers be sent directly from the National Institute of Education through the email of the information line. The leaflets are available as long as supplies last.

3. How can our school get accreditation for giving examinations in the Czech language? What are the criteria for that?

Currently only those institutions that are included in the Directory of Schools and Educational Institutions (School Registry) of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the CR, and further the selected higher education institutions are authorised to provide examinations in the Czech language for permanent residence. The list of these institutions is given by Decree of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports No. 348/2008 Coll. and its expansion is not planned at this time.

4. What is the Level A1?

The levels of the individual examinations in Czech as a foreign language correspond to the division of language knowledge of a foreign language according to the CERFL. The Level A1 represents these language skills:

The student participates in a conversation in the most common everyday situations in a very simple way, i.e. asks and answers questions concerning himself/herself, his/her place of residence, property, relatives and acquaintances

  • when visiting public institutions, post offices,
  • when ordering services or food and when shopping;
  • when in contact with officials (forms, public notices);
  • when visiting health care facilities; in social contact (written and oral invitations, posters);
  • during accommodation, localising a place and when travelling by public transport.
